Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Seeking Advice

I was just arrested last night for Possesion of a class D substance, Minor transportation, and possesion of alchohol.

I was with a group me and 5 other people ages 16, 17, 18, 18, 20,

I am 18.
I have never been arrested and have no record.

We climbed out a window and smoked on a porch then climbed back in leaving the window opened. When we came back in a neighbor called the cops. When the cops arrived I had a glass of coke and vodka in my hand but was so out of my mind I drank it right in front of the cops questioning us through the window when he asked to see it he smelt it and knew it had alchohol in it so they came in. When they came in they smelt pot and asked for it so i gave it to them cause I was the one who had it. The alchohol bottle was next to me as well but was not mine. After searching everyone the cops arrested me and brought the 16 year old home.

I have a couple question

Should i pay for a court appointed lawyer?
How much will one cost me(I live in massachusetts if that matters)?
Will the police inform my school of my arrest (I go to high school)?
What do you think my punishment will be?

You are going to have some fines to pay and probation for sure. You will probably also have to do some community service. They may tell the school of your arrest. If you have a school liasion officer, he/she may let them know. Are you on any sports teams? If you are, they will probably inform your coach and you might be suspened from a few games. (That happens at the high school I work at, but I don't know about yours) I have no idea how much a court appointed lawyer will cost, but it is probably in your best intrest to have some legal council. They may be able to arrage a plea for you to take, which could lessen your punishment.
