Seizure of vehicle

I've been arrested, but not convicted of a theft crime. The police seized my vehicle, containing my tools, and have put a hold on it. They've told me that they will continue to hold the vehicle until the stolen property is recovered.
My question is, can the police legally continuei to hold my vehicle, since it is actually titled in my mother's name?
I look forward to seeing your response.

Sincerely,
Jeremy Martin

Your Mother can contact the police & ask if it can be released to her (the owner/title holder). Since you were arrested, do you have a lawyer? You can ask him/her.

Your mother, the legal owner of the vehicle, should contact the police and inquire what must she do to have her vehicle released back into her custody.

She should make this contact within the next 6-12 hours, otherwise her storage and towing fees will be outrageous.
