Please give me some advise , my husband and i bought our house off a highwawy 13 in tenessee , the sellers told us that the state was buiding a new road and part of their property was bought by the state , but they never told us the extent of the total construction , we ( my husband and i ) were under the impression it was coming to be minor changes done to our property , they have came in and moved telephone poles closer , now they ( construction ) are moving a ditch closer to our property and filling it up with gravel , i am so upset by i feel lied too , do we have any recourse at all , this was suppose to be our retirement home and it has turned into a nightmare, any further info needed to help me with this , please let me know thank you Judy

You knew that a new road was being built, you could have dug deeper to find out exactly how close it would be to your home. You would basically have to prove the seller knew that the road was going to be much closer than relayed to you.

You can talk to a real estate attorney and see what they say.

I am not an attorney, please do not construe this as legal advice.

Good luck

Judy, it was up to y'all to look into that. How would the seller know what the highway department is going to do for sure?
