sent to collections for making low payments?

My jurisdiction is: California

I recieved a letter informing me that the mri imaging company will no longer accept my 10.00 payment per month which is what I can afford, on a 210.93 balance of my co-pay. They are giving me 10 days to pay the full amount or to collections I go. I have never missed a payment.
The collection company will end up getting the same.
Any suggestions??

A $210.93 balance is pretty small. Have you tried to call and ask if there is anything else that can be done? Is there someone you can borrow the money from then make the $10 a month payments back to them?
