My husband and I have been separated for 8 months and we are very close to a divorce. In the last month he has sent me text messages and e mails that were very vulgar and angry. This past weekend he was somehow able to get into my singles on line account and looked at the men that I have been talking to on-line. He has also accessed my e mail and says that he knows whenver I send a text message? I have a "go" phone which is pre-paid and I've changed all of my passwords but he still has access to see my e mails. I have gotten an order of protection against him and I'm wondering if that will force him to stop accessing my private e mails. Also, he has threatened to bring my e mails into court and my lawyer tells me there's nothing that I can do about that. I just can't believe that he can access my e mails, without permission, and it's not illegal in any way. My issue is my 14 and 12 year old sons that he has already shown these e mails to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what to tell you. Breaking into your online accounts could be a violation of your court order and law. If your husband brings the emails to court (a) it doesn't mean they are admissible for the court to look at, and (b) you should raise to the judge the level to which you are fearful of your husband, who is illegally hacking into your online accounts. There might be laws that he is violating but I think our prosecutors have their hands full with fraud at the moment and this won't be a high priority. Your lawyer probably is giving you the best advice he/she can.
