My 'husband' and I married 10/15/07 in San Diego county. He was in the navy at the time and soon thereafter was deployed. We never owned any property together and honestly only lived together for several months between his deployments. After his final deployment he was no longer in the navy. Not sure whether he was kicked out or what happened, but he pretty much dissappeared on me at that point. I moved north to Sacramento where I now reside and although we stayed in contact were no longer actively in a relatinship - although still legally married. Last year I didn't call him on his birthday, which upset him and he now refuses to talk to me at all. I've recently found out he is in a relationship with a woman who is now pregnant with his child.

All i want at this point is to move forward with my own life and let him move forward with his. As we never shared property or finances a summary dissolution seemed like my best option - problem is he will NOT return calls, e-mails or any type of contact.

What are my options if I can't get in contact with him? Since he is actually the one who left (dissappeared) and started a new relationship and family...is there any way he is obligated to help me pay for it? My finances are VERY limited but I need to get this done and move on with my life.

Help and advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you

No, you can't require him to help you pay for the divorce.

You can sue for divorce based on his abandonment of the marital home and his subsequent adultery.

This ought to be real easy for you, what with his abandonment and all.
