hello-
i was recently served papers regarding an an unpaid debt (capital one) stating that i was being sued for refusal to pay. i have been harassed by this lawyer representing the company since january, threatening phone calls, information leaked to my co-workers, etc. i had requested that they only contact me through mail, and when they sent my the statemtn i replied with a letter stating my permission for them to withdraw a set amount from my checking account every month to pay this debt. . .and didn't hear anything until i was served. what sort of advice is out there? what should i do next? i am obviously wanting to avoid court and all the extra expenses that with accrue. . .is it okay to authorize someone else to talk to these people? i am tired of being threatened!
thanks. . .
