My Wife And I Recently Hired Someone To Install Carpet In Our Home.since We Were Not Fully Moved In We Wre Staying At A Rental And Left The Door Unlocked For Carpet Guy.he Was There For A Couple Of Days When He Called Me To Let Me Know That There Were A Couple Of Things On Lower Floor That Needed Moved I Assured Him I Would Move Them And Did So The Next Day.on The Very Next Day My Wife Told Me She Had Already Paid The Guy In Full For The Work.when I Found This Out I Called The Guy And Explained I Didn't Agree With My Wife's Decision To Pay Him And Asked Him To Assure Me There Were Going To Be No Problems.since I Had Not Yet Received Or Singed A Contract I Told Him I Need To Have Him Furnish One Which He Agreed.that Was About A Month Ago He Has Not Returned To Finish The Job I Have Text Messages In Which He Promises To Be At My House On Six Different Occasions To Finfish Only To Never Show.he Also Sent Me A Viocemail( After I Left Him A Rather Angry One) Boasting I Didn't Have A Contract With Him.but He Did Endorse Check In His Name With A Fingerprint.i Have Contacted Attorney General, consumer Protection Agency And Better Business Bureau.i Would Appreciate Any Feedback You Can Give-thanks

Yeah-- but you need to decide if you need to get the work done now (paying someone else ) or go to court to force him to fix-- If you hire someone else then this is the amount you would sue the man for. if you dont fix it then you would sue him to finish it, if he fails @ that time you can file for contempt. If it were me- to make things simple- I would hire someone to finish and sue him for that amount
