The sheriff has tried multiple times to deliver a writ of execution on my small claim, the first 4 times no one answered the door and he left a notice.
this last time the debtors mother answered the door, and told the sheriff that the debtor didn't live at that address anymore.
I'm fairly sure that's a lie, he's filed an appeal(other case) with that as his address, less than a week before that service attempt.

any ideas what I should do now?
the sheriff mentioned posting a break-in bond, but that was before this last attempt.
I'm in allegheny county, pa.

thank you

Folks have tried innovative (and sometimes quite humorous!) ways to get others served.

Easiest (and less exciting way); can they be served at work?

Hire someone to act as a pizza delivery guy. Give him a baseball cap and a couple of empty pizza boxes.

Hire someone to act as a flower delivery person. Pick up a bunch of flowers at your local grocery store, have them go over, knock on the door and say that the person you are trying to serve needs to sign for the flowers.

Most innovative method I've read....someone purchased half a dozen balloons, made up a large sign saying "Publishers Clearing House", had a second person with a video camera; went up and knocked on the door and announced that so and so (hereby known as the deadbeat trying to avoid being served) had won the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes.

The creative use of pictures and video of the defendant entering the household might also prompt the mother into cooperating for fear of a perjury charge... Does said deadbeat have a known occupation?
