I need some assistance/direction as to where to go. I went to an auto repair shop this am to have an oil change done. As per usual, I asked that a specific mechanic who knows my vehicle, "to just look it over and give me a rough idea as to why it is running a little hotter than usual."
The new manager at the facility had an attitude when I asked for a specific mechanic & the fact I "walked-in" instead of calling first. ((I never had to do this before) Charged me for "ANALYSIS OF OVER HEATING CONDITION" and demanded that the mechanic do a pressure test on my vehicle even though I did not ask for diagnostics, nor agree to any testing. I asked for it to be "LOOKED OVER"
Needless to say, I arrived at the shop with a normal running vehicle. Now since a pressure test being insisted upon my shop management, I have a rather disturbing antifreeze leak from my radiator, and an estimate from the shop for $800.00 for repairs they claim I am liable for.
I have spoken with thier District Director, and his only offer to me was in his words,,,, " I HAVE SPOKEN WITH [personal info deleted] ABOUT YOUR VEHICLE AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. THEY ARE GIVING YOU A $85.00 DISCOUNT ON THE REPAIRS THAT YOU NEED TO HAVE DONE. SINCE I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GET YOU BACK INTO THE SHOP AND SATISFY YOUR COMPLAINT, I WOULD LIKE TO "" SWEETEN THE DEAL"" AND OFFER YOU ANOTHER $75.00 OFF THE PRICE OF THE REPAIRS, SO WE CAN TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE FOR THE PRICE OF $650.00. yOU CAN PAY HALF OF THE CHARGES NOW, AND WE CAN HOLD YOUR PERSONAL CHECK FOR THE BALANCE FOR 30 DAYS TO FINISH PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS.
I may not be the brightest "bulb in the marquee", but I am not that dumb. Am I wrong in believing that since they caused damage to my vehicle that they are or should be responsible for the repairs?
