Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft shop lifting at a store

im 14 years of age and me and a friend went to a store.

soon i was being chased i didnt kno who they are and so i ran they caught me and took m and my friend back inside


i had no intention of me stealing

the cops came and arrested me


this supposedly took place in new jersey

this was my first offense no other criminal record

will i do jail time? will i have a juivenial or criminal record?

will i be able to get a job and not have a record?

Neither of you will go to jail. Possibly your friend, since he has a prior record, may spend some time in juvie. What were you charged with?

With no priors jail is unlikely. Far as your record goes talk to your Attorney about plea options like ACD or Diversion that can keep your record clean. I would also suggest new friends

Talk only to your parents. Ask your parents to hire a lawyer, or get the court (juvenile court) to appoint a public defender.
Stop saying anything about this, except to your parents and soon, your lawyer.
Don't admit anything. Don't say who did what, when, where, or why.
You aren't legally required to say anything. Start being smarter and less chatty.

Stay out of that store. Don't ask why, just don't ever go back to that store. Be smart or you'll end up in prison or jail. Not now, but this is your wake up call.

You need to talk to your parents & a lawyer. The lawyer will go over your options with you & should get you the best outcome possible. I don't see jail time based on what you posted.
