Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Shoplift affecting jobs?

If I shoplifted and never was contacted by the court or the police (kept internal) will I have trouble getting internships? Marketing specifically. Some applied to are with retail companies but only in the marketing dept. others are with media companies. Will they see my name in the national retail theft database??????

They might. They might not. Not all background checks are created equal.

I am a Retail Theft Consultant and answer questions like yours daily. If the store that caught you shoplifting is a subscriber to a Retail Theft Database then your name is in there. any other retailer who subscribes to said database may view this info. However not all stores use such databases. I have (in the past) helped those seeking info on what stores use databases but I do not do so publicly.
