hi Hope you are all doing great! I really need your advice and guidance. I am an international student in Germany. Three days ago i went shopping in a small store. My shopping bag was in my school bag. Any ways, i was walking in the store looking up things. So i took a body spray and kept looking up things thing. Now in order to take my shopping bag from my school bag i put the body spray in my jacket. SO I kept shopping and filled my shopping bag and i paid for every thing like 20 euros. So when i was about to get out i heard the cashier dectetors go on and they stopped and said you took sth you did not pay for. So then i remembered and i showed the body spray and then they took to a back room in the store and asked me for my information so they called sb may be the police or sth but police did not come. So i went and paid for the body spray which is worth 2 euros or sth n went home and i did not sign any thing at all.

I m really afraid that the police would send me a letter and that would go on my record. I m a student not a thief . The lady treated me like a thief and i wanted to die. I love this country and i m here for better education and better life .

My questions are:

Would i receive a letter from the police?

Would that go on my record?

Would that affect my visa extention?

please do help and i would really appreciate if there was any similar accident and what really happened ?

okey i thought you guys might have heard of a case in germany. Thank you very much for your relplies :D

I was wondering if I, as a General Contractor, can have a homeowner sign a liability waiver, if that is indeed the correct document name.

I have a homeowner who is on a very tight budget (or she doesn't want to pay the money). She wants me to do a remodeling project for her but she wants me to do the plumbing and electrical work myself. She does not want me to hire sub-contractors since she states shes had bad experiences with sub-contractors. I am more than capable of doing the plumbing and electrical work but, I am not licensed in those two respective areas. I live in small town that does not have any inspectors of any kind, if that helps.

What I want to accomplish is to protect myself against any claims of property and personal damage since I can't foretell the future (even though I can guarantee my work) and I do not know this homeowners mind.

Thanks

You might want to do a google search for a German law forum.
