My jurisdiction is: New Hampshire

hi i am 20 years old, i got caught shoplifting at wal-mart in new hampshire, the total was 80 dollars, i didn't get arrested but got summons to district court for an arraignment..i have no criminal record and no traffic tickets...the police officer told me if i plead guilty i'd get a fine and everything would be over with.. how much of a fine can you estimate it will be?? what should i do?? i cant afford a lawyer cause im a college student and broke
 
What the Officer failed to tell you is if you do as he says you will have a criminal record! If you cannot afford an Attorney as for Public Defender. Then ask this Lawyer about Diversion programs. Also if you send me a message I can put you in touch with some groups that can help you.
