About two weeks ago I made a huge mistake. I was caught shoplifting a little less than 20$. A person who worked at the store stopped me and called security to take me to the back room. They took my info, picture, told me I would receive a ticket in the mail, and banned me from the shopping center for about 6 months. Since I'm 17 the security gave me a small lecture of how in texas I'm an adult and I could be arrested. Luckily though, I was not arrested and the security gaurd said that info wouldn't reach my school or anything. After all that they let me go home. Also they said nothing about having to go to court, but I still feel thats uncertain if I'm going.
My question is:
If I apply for a job and they do a backround check, will this appear? Does this mean I have a criminal record?
