hi!
i was caught shoplifting in 2007 in New Jersey. i'm from europe and was in USA with work and travel visa. i did something really stupid i shoplifted. i was caught and went in front of a judge. i got 60 hours of community service, 350 $ fine and 15 day jail sentence suspended if i went to a shoplifting seminar.i had paid the fine and did my 60 hours but i did not attend the seminar because my visa expired a month before it was scheduled. so in time of the seminar i was back home.
i would like to know is a warrent for my arrest issued and is it only for the USA or for the whole world???im sure im going to be arrested in us but am i safe outside the us?? im confused because the laws in my country are not the same like in us.
this has been hounting me for 2 years now and i cant be more sorry for my actions.i never did anything like that before or after.please help.
thank you...

You can contact the court to see if a warrant was issued which its likely it was. You violated terms of probation and at very least now owe that 15 days in jail. You need an Attorney to help clear this. Its unlikely another country will have a misdemeanor warrant or even act on it.

thank you very much...
so i can freely travel everywhere except in US?
i do not intent to go back to US i just wanted to know does my stupidity has consequences back home or in any other country...

While you need to clear this up ASAP, you will be able to travel freely to most places, most likely even the US. There will be consequences for your actions (you probably will not be able to become a US citizen) but travel should be ok. Talk with an attorney as see the legal repercussions for skipping the class and potentially violating your probation. That will clear your mind.

Once you have done that please keep us informed as to how it goes as your experience can help us be more knowledgeable and potentially help others in situations similar to yours.

well since then ive been to hungary, germay and poland but by car i dont know if airports have different information but it all went without a problem.
when i was arrested they didnt take any of my Identification, not even on the day when i saw a judge, i didnt have to post bail or anything. i dont know who to talk to in my country because noone understands the law in america and to hire anyone in us is risky because i dont know who to trust. i have only one paper from that court day and there isnt much information on it.
while i was in US i went to see the publick defender and even he didnt know what to tell me.he said that he thinks it's only valid in us but he was not sure. after i did my 60 hours i wrote to the judge requesting an extra day of comunity instead of the seminar but he denied.and also the lady that gave me information about comunity said it should not be a problem but its hounting me and i dont know what to do.

thank you all for trying to help
