I am over 18 yrs and I got caught shoplifting at a major department store last year. The merchandice was about $300. I had my picture taken, and signed papers that I was not to go back to that store for a year. The police were called, but they were handling something else so they didn't show. I was therefore never arrested by the police, never had my fingerprints taken, and never issued a court date. I finished paying my civil demand claim last August and have never returned to that store. My question is, will this go into my record as a misdemeanor? Also, is the retail theft database accessible to schools and employers? Thankyou for all your help.
