Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft shoplifting in California...peti theft HELP PLZ!

I was caught shoplifting and they sed its a midemeanor theft will it show up in a background search?
ok but here's the thing i was not arrested or booked no handcuffs...i didnt sign any papers i am banned from the store the theft was only 20 dollars werth i am 19 years old living in CA..they have all my info...im trying to get into the firedepartment will this even show up on a background search even if i didnt sign anything no fine no arrest no fingerprints and this is my first offense..... i learned my lesson someone plz answer this! =(

yeas police were called but i dnt have a court date or any fines and i didnt have to sign anything...police were real cool about it they didnt arrest me or anything like tht juss looked me up in the computer and their like dnt lie to us about any of ur info cause if its wrong anything then were takin u in so they looked me up and i wasnt lying and they juss escorted me out of the store

First lets clear things up. You were arrested. The arrest was a citizens arrest by store. Now the Police came but gave you no citation? This is odd as it seem sfollish to call Police if charges are not beign pressed. Watch your mailbox in coming days for a letter with your court date

hmmm well the police didnt say tht they were gunna fine me or anything at all like tht he sed your gunna get off really ez because of the store cop was real nice and i made him laugh and the cops said i should thank him cause im gettn off ez now idk what "ez" emplies lol soo im real confused! idk how this will play out wat do u think????

Ok we do not know what they meant by that we were not there. It could mean no criminal charges were pressed and you only get a Civil Fine. We cannot say for certain. It seems odd that Police were called if they were not pressing charges. Was this in a Mall with a Police substation?

no police substation these were actual police from their own station...well is it odd that they didnt make me sign anything...

Some Police departments have sub stations at Malls. They are still Police and usually show up at all shoplifting stops. Once more its very odd that store would request Police show up if they were not pressing charges. Sending Police to their store for no reason is a waste of the Officers time and would not fair well in relations between the two
