Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Shoplifting second time

I was caught shoplifting 4 years ago, charged with petty theft and paid court fee and restitution to store. Yesterday I made the stupid mistake of trying again and was caught. 20.00 of merchandise and police came and said nothing showed on my record, given citation for petty theft and court date. Will this be changed to a felony? Any information or advice would be appreciated, I am worried to death I will be go to jail for this. PLEASE HELP!!

How old are you? The first time you were caught you were likely placed on pre-trial intervention and after you completed that the charges would not appear on your record. You won't go to jail for this new charge and it is not a felony. However, you have got to stop stealing stuff. I know your mother taught you better so show some respect for GOD'S sake. Thanks
