Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Shoplifting will it count for Immergration

Good Day

My question is about Immigration.
I just like to find out if I have a criminal record of South Africa about 12 years ago will this affect my Immigration to New Zealand? ...... I am alreading living a year in NZ and have no comvictions here ...... I am also working part time and are married for 10 years already. So I guess my question is will NZ grant me a Permanent Residency permit if the shoplifting conviction is on my Record back in South Africa ??????

I am a immigration specialist from Oz and we have very similar laws re: immigration. The most important thing is to disclose the offence when you apply for PR as this will show contrition and will show that it was a one off. The Kiwi officials look at criminal records in much the same way as Australian authorities - i.e. if you have been convicted of serial or serious offences you will fail the character test - if not, you should be fine BUT DONT FORGET TO DISCLOSE the matter!
