Today I was caught shoplifting round 50$ this is my first time and my court date is in February im 18 and cant afford a lawyer I dont have a job or anything plz help

Plead not guilty, admit nothing, beg the judge to appoint a public defender, work with the public defender to fix your problem.

Going forward, obey all of their laws. It's rather easy to obey the man's laws.

If you can't afford a lawyer, ask the court if they will appoint you a public defender. The PD will go over your options with you. You might ask about ACD or diversion. You might even consider taking an anti-shoplifting course before going to court - one is www.shopliftingprevention.org. You can do a google search for others.

I am a Retail theft consultant and answer questions like yours daily. This is not as bad as you believe. As told request public defender and ask this Lawyer about plea options be sure to ask about ACD or Diversion. the NASP course mentioned earlier can be found on their webpage (Betty provided link) the Director is an acquaintance of mine. I once referred a client to the Anti Shoplifting course with instructions to complete course and have proof before court. He did so and Judge dismissed his case on the spot no probation at all!! I cannot say same will happen for you but it wont hurt
