Should I go to court? misdemeanor/failure to purchase DL

I was recently pulled over (May 16th) for speeding, and got a misdemeanor citation for failing to purchase an Idaho Driver's license after I moved here in October. I had a current Wyoming DL and have a clean record. The fine is $144 or I can go to court. I really do not want a misdemeanor on my record, so I was wondering if it is worth going to court and risk having to pay a higher fine and court costs or just pay the fine?

As far as I understand you have a certain time period to purchase the license. You did not do so and were cited for violating the law. What are you going to say in your defense? Unless you want to piss off the judge for wasting her time, I suggest you pay the fine.
