I have been married since 2003, I left my Husband in 2010 after he went to jail for Simple Battery and Cruelty to Children (putting his hands on me in front of our Children) , I was not the PERFECT Wife, Nor was he the PERFECT Husband, But while we were together we had a Good Marriage overall, until he thought it was ok to put his hands on me. We have 3 Children from this Marriage ages, 13, 9. and 8yrs Old...When I left my Husband in 2010 I took the kids with me and went back to Rochester NY, where we were originally from, we had been living in Georgia since 2007. After the kids being with me for 1 yr in NY, I decided to send them back to be with there Dad in Georgia since they were so use to having Both parents, (I felt like I didnt wanna take them away from him all the way) the plan was for them to stay with him in GA for 1yr until I move back down. So we can co parent, I moved back to GA in 2012, since I came back down he told me I could not get the kids back, in Aug of 2013 I decided to go to his house while he wasn't there and get my Daughter who is the youngestChild, With no clothes or Shoes, I brought her clothes for school, registered her for school, and just been taking care of her every since, I talk to my Boys when I call them, he never allows my Boys to come visit me. I don't understand why he is using the kids to get back at me for whatever reason, cause he knows thru it all we both r GREAT Parents. 1 Month ago I received a Divorce Summons, I filed my Answer, and we had Mediation on Last week, He has a Lawyer, and I don't, I have been calling all over Georgia trying to get some type of Pro Bono Attorney, Legal Aide Help, or Volunteer Lawyer, I have been unsuccessful with this. The Judge ordered a Temporary stay that my Daughter remains with me and the 2 Boys stay with him, at least until we go back to Court in Dec 2013, The Judge also made a comment that he predicts the Courts is goin to give him Temporary Custody since the kids have recently been with him, I now know the BIGGEST mistake I did was to allow my Children to come back to GA to be with him, (Me trying to be the Bigger Adult smh) I don't have a job, but I have a home, a car, and i'm a great parent. My Husband works from 5am until 5pm Sunday thru Thursday, leaving the Childrewn home alone to send themselves out to school bythere self, and most Days they r there alone until he comes home from work, I feel like since I am an at home MOM I have more time on my hands to Supervise with Homework, making sure they r not on internet all day doin God knows what and they eat nutritious meals, I feel like we should have Joint Custody, The primary place of residence should be with me, and the should be able to go be with him during weekends, Holidays or whenever they want. I just cant lose my Children all because I have no money for a LAwyer, Can someone, anyone please help, Legal Aide said they could not help me because it is a Conflict of Interest, I guess because he is already using there services. please call me at (deleted phone #) if u can help or give me any advice Thanks.
