Hello, I am really doing this for my mother in law since she doesn't know how to use the computer. Heres the problem We have a feeling that her foundation is sinking. We are planning on taking pictures of all the problems to document them. The house is only 6 years old. We want her to get it checked out by a profesional to make sure that, yes in fact it is sinking. The house is on a regular cement foundtion. It is a poured cement wall instead of blocks. The rest of the house is that sip pannel home. The walls are all ready made. It just has to be put up. I know that to fix the problem it can be very expenise and she doesn't have that much money. Can we sue the builder or the guys that did the foundation to get them to pay for it and all the damages? The company that did the foundation has done other work at her house and we have had nothing but problems working with them, so i kind of have a feeling that they would fight us about fixing the problem. Thanks for all your help. Look forward to hearing your ideas. Thank you.

You have 10 years!

Well, you are taking all the right steps and having the problem appraised by an independent expert is a definite plus in your case. And should the expert's report attest to the fact that the foundation is indeed sinking and that the job was done properly, then, of course you have a cause of action against the company that poured the foundation.

The statute of limitation for construction defects is 10 years.
