I work in the health field (not a doctor) and I recently had a patient that blatently lied to her doctor, saying that I told her a course of treatment, when I am not in the position to treat patients. The doctor is upset with me, and will not take the time to understand that everything I told the patient came straight from a Dr. at our facility. The patient says she plans on trying to get my professional license taken away. Is there anyway she can do this? Or is just the fact that she is trying enough for me to be able to sue for slander? The only problem, the whole case would be he said/she said. I am incredibly upset that my current hospital is only concerned with pleasing the patient's doctor and not taking the time to inform him that I was correct in what I told the patient and that everything I told her came straight from the Dr. I work for. I want to make sure nothing happens to my license, as I happen to like my job here (for the most part) and would like to keep in this field.
