Sleeping Arrangement

I have just moved into a one BR apartment and need to know how old a child can be before he has to have his own room? If my girlfriend's son( 6 year old) comes to visit, will he need his own room or will a sofa/bed in the living room suffice?

Your only talking about a visit the sofa is fine

I'll go further actually - even for a parent with full custody, there is nothing in the statute requiring a child to have a separate bedroom.

The only time it becomes an issue is in foster care situations and/or with local ordinance.
