I have a question about the place I am renting.
I live in Orlando Florida. I am not to sure of the renters laws and code enforcement.
The house I rent is the bottom section of a 2 story house. Ok to start off i have had some noise issues with my upstairs neighbors. Spoke to the property manager. She avoided the request i had for her to speak to them about quieting down after 10pm,and Basically said if they go to jail i will kick them out. (p.s. neighbors are very rude). I do not have a smoke alarm,I do not have vents in the kitchen or bathroom, there are rats in my walls. One of my walls is bowing inward. There is no light on the outside of my house. (didn't think it was a big deal until i tripped on some uneven ground and sprained my ankle walking my dog one night). The front door doesn't even look like it is the right size for the frame. Its about a inch to small. I can see outside and barely lock my door. Ok so that's my list. I am not to sure but I heard there is a law in Florida where your supposed to have air vents in the bathroom and kitchen to prevent mold? Could I call code enforcement so my land lord will do something? Also if the place gets condemned is there a way I could successfully get my full deposit back? Does my property manager by law have to give my deposit back!? I want to add my lease is a month to month and after a year I can I sign a year lease and get my deposits back!
