could someone explain this charge to me. My son was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over by the police and a bottle of vodka found. They questioned my son and he said that he did not know who's alcohol this was. The other passengers and the driver were also questioned. It's our assumption that no one said it was thiers? So are all the occupants in the vehicle charged with the pocession of a minor? They were all 18 years of age.

Thanks in advance for your help

That is how the police handles such cases sometimes………The actions and questioning of the passengers by the cops must have given sufficient evidence or probable cause that they were protecting someone or lying. Since they did not out the real person, they might have been all charged. The cops must have found it hard to believe no one could tell the owner………He however would only have to fight in court to clean his name. It is not surprising…..Don't be surprised if some of the kids start outing others to get a deal or clear their names. Sad but true…………the first who cooperates usually gets the best deal…… Your son will have to show he did not know it was there nor owned it.....
