Hey all,

i got a ticket saturday, a 49 in a 35, i really thought it was a 45 guess i thought wrong haha

but i was wondering if SC has a prayer for judgement at all or anything like it, because im from NC, and this is my first speeding ticket.

if not, what are the chances of talking to the DA and judge in SC (myrtle Beach) to get it so no insurance points, just licence points?

South Carolina speeding ticket

South Carolina does not have a prayer for judgement and you cannot talk to the judge except on your court date. It is likely that they may reduce it to a 9mph over ticket so there will be no insurance points. If they don't you can request a jury trial and that sometimes brings them around but who knows in Myrtle.

You will not receive anything in the mail.

so as long as they drop it down to less than 9mph over the speed limit no insurance rates will increase?

and it will be like 2 licence points correct?

You do have to show for court or get a continuance. Otherwise they will tack on a FTA fine which is about another 145.00. One way to put it off is to enter a not guilty plea if they will not give you a continuance. This can be done by mail CRRR or by fax in a lot of courts.
