I know the first thing you see if my name Dip In Traffic.........a few years ago that's what I used to do Highway racing ....I've always kept within my limits keeping it safe (kinda hard to believe) .that turned into street racing it was new to me so I was really into it . I went to car meets all the time then about 2 1/2 years ago 12 of us got arrested for street racing as a felony .yes a felony they jacked up all these charges .My car was, seized and Parts stolen ,I paid fines, lawyer ripped me off.....it was a horrible experience ....I've grown a lot since then....I found my original car and turn it into a Monster I drive on the street here and there but its just to cruise and show off my hard work or track duty .....I no longer street race. police in my area respect me I don't have problems with the car ,I try to school my younger friends when I see them messing up

I was in NYC visiting my parents and I got a a phone call from my best friend who lives my parents house he told me a race is supposed to go down .so I figured id have a chance to see my friend b4 I drive back upstate ... I was parked on a side street the whole time I had no intention of racing my junk daily driver. some time goes by and I tell my friend lets go and we lost contact with one of them we waited around for him and when we were getting ready to leave a police car shows up.....I slowly walk to my car and the officer goes after two cars and stops I turn on to the main road and the officer pulls over 3 of us we were just cruising .....and the other people went speeding away running the red light.......

I was hit with a speed contest ticket and its checked traffic infraction (offence type)in violation of section 1182 sub 1 .....

The officer asked me out of all the cars to pop my hood .I opened the hood there was really nothing to see everything is factory and he laughed and replied so the most expensive thing on ur car is your wheels . I returned to the car and received my ticket .... I questioned him about my ticket . I told him I wasn't racing I was parked the whole time. he replied I don't know that .. fight it in court

What can I expect in court???? can they take my car for this??? what are possible fines??? should i go to the court tomorrow and tell them what happened? i wont be back in nyc is a while
im afraid to tell my parents...this goes against everything I've everything I've ever told them..its a big slap in the face ...

sorry for the long post I just wanted you to have all the details

JUSTIFICATION: Drag racing has been an ongoing problem in different
parts of New York State for many years. Neighborhoods have had to toler-
ate and combat this crime, trying to find ways to drive it from our
streets. In order to help combat illegal, drag racing, we need, to
empower law enforcement officials with the tools to effectively fight
it. Allowing police officers to issue traffic violations to active spec-
tators, who are helping to engage in this illegal activity, is a power-
ful step towards securing our streets.

PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: A113 - 2003-04 - Referred to Transportation

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: To be determined.

EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect on the first of November next
succeeding the date on which it shall have become a law.

If drag racing is such a big problem (which it is ) why do they continue to close down tracks and threaten to close down others???....so guys who do go legit and keep it on the track ..when their track is closed down what are they supposed to do ......look at their 30k+ investment rot in the garage?? i dont get it .....
