I went to trial yesterday for a citation I received in March for speeding in excess of 100 mph. The officer gave a 30 second recap of what he had in his notes, then I gave my side of the story. There were a couple of inconsistencies in his story (number of people in the car, how many lane changes), AND he did not say how long he supposedly paced me OR how long after I passed him it was that he pulled me over. I gave those details in my testimony, but ultimately plead guilty to speeding at 90 mph (a public defender suggested I do that). However, without hesitation or explanation, the judge found me guilty of speeding over 100 mph and suspended my lisence for 1 month. At the initial arraignment, a woman with the same charge, was only ordered to pay a fine. Is there anything I can do at this point (appeal, retrial, etc.) to avoid the repurcussions of having my license suspended? I feel his decision was unjust and without explanation.
