i was recently ticketed for driving 70mph in a 55mph. it was a highway as i was on my way home from a beach trip. i live in nc and was ticketed in nc. i've NEVER once received a speeding ticket before, i havent even been stopped by a cop in my 6 years of driving (i'm currently 22 years old). i have a perfectly clean driving record.

i was going 70mph, and truthfully told the officer i knew how fast i was going. but, i did ask him "isn't the speed limit 65mph?". literally, the entire time i was driving, i saw NO speed limit sign that had a 55mph speed limit on it. my fiancee and best friend were with me, and they can attest to that. none of us saw any speed limit sign of 55. we saw 2 that were a 70, and finally one that was a 60 about 5 minutes after the state trooper stopped me.

the ticket fine was $150 total. i would pay it, but i realize the ticket i was given will increase the points on my license, and i definitely do NOT want that to happen. how do i go about getting this taken care of?

i have heard from a friend that i should enter a "prayer for judgement". should i do that?

any help would be greatly appreciated, as i've never had to deal with this before and i dont know where to start :D

If you can't g back for court contact on of the attorneys who have sent you theri information. Try to get it down to a nine over and save your PFJ. If you can go back do it prior to your court date if the prosecutor has office hours. Shouldn't be a problem since a reduction is routine.
