Hello! My husband and I were traveling in NC, (we live in SC and have a SC drivers license) and my husband was stopped and ticketed for 80 in a 65. I know that this is a serious ticket and we are motivated to see if we can either get the charge dismissed or at least reduced down to 5 miles over which in SC is only 2 points versus 4. My husband is fine with going to court, but we are considering hiring an attorney to see if he can accomodate our hope of getting the ticket dismissed or severely reduced. Our concern is that we don't want to go to the expense of hiring an attorney if the end result would be the same as if we went to court. What would you recommend? Thanks!

If you have one of those auto club memberships that offer you attorney services for these type of offenses use it; if you don't then just go to court and state your case. Your chances are going to be as good as if you were going to use an attorney to have your case reduced. Good Luck!

Attorney fees in NC are extremely low and will be cheaper than driving back to court considering the gas prices. Send me a PM if you need a reference.
