Hello, I appreceate any time you guys take to look through this!
I live in New Jersey, I've had to make quite a few trips through PA due to school this past year. The riving has caught up with me!
I got a violation in December on the turnpike, which the officer brought to failure to obey traffic control device, a non-points violation (3111). The check I sent to pay for this bounced, and I missed the court date for paying the fee, and have to get this paid for before July or they will call New Jersey and have my license suspended.
I also got a speeding ticket in New Jersey (35 in a 25, failure to show registration), which was simply paid, as I had no way to be in Pittsburgh attending class and showing up in court at the same time.
I just now recieved a ticket for 80 in a 65, and suddenly realized that I don't, in fact, want huge insurance costs.
The manner that I was pulled over was a bit strange, I was tailing someone who was caught by either laser or radar. (My detector was silent, traitor!) I didn't know to inspect the device or whatnot, but the serial number is on the citation. Anyway, the officer said I was following the fellow who was actually doing 82, but he said he would give me 80 instead, as he did for the other guy (This is the next step down in points recieved). I told him right off the bat that my insurance card was expired, but I was indeed covered, and he didn't give me a ticket for this.
I don't believe I ever admitted to speeding, but I was courteous. He asked to search my car (I have long hair, and this means that I use marajuana, correct?) and asked if I had any contraband drugs, weapons, large ammounts of cash. I told him he was welcome to search, he asked me to admit it if I had anything, I said I had fireworks (that he didn't seem to care about), he looked in my glove box, and found a U2 CD and not much else. He was also kind enough to inform me that I couldn't, in fact, just ignore my ticket. I assume that he saw the previous ticket wasn't yet paid and wasn't being a smartass.
I've noticed that my car's speedometer is sometimes 5-8 below the "You are going 'this fast" signs, and sometimes synchs up with them.
Anyway, there are a lot of odd details throguh this, and I can't make up if I'm screwed (two previous tickets, one of which is late to be paid for? That, and the officer was allready generous) or potentially OK (I'm going to drive two-thirds of the way accross PA to make the court date, I cooperated with the officer, the circumstance was maybe slightly weird).
Also, the officer wrotwe either "Qpass" or "Opass" on the remarks section of the ticket. What might this mean?
Thanks again to anyone who reads through this!
