I got a speeding ticket today - for allegedly going 86 in a 45 - in Uvalde, Texas. I'm from Canada so I have an out-of-country license (no points on it, and I don't have insurance at home because I don't have a car). The violation listed is speeding; I didn't get an exact fine, the ticket just says to appear in front of a judge. I honestly thought I was going 86 in a *70*, because I was about to enter the 45 zone and slow down when the officer clocked me. What might the consequences be, and what's the best course of action here? Should I get a traffic attorney? Thanks in advance!
