I am a graduating college senior in TN, I got a ticket for 44 in a 30 last night which is the first ticket on my record. I am moving home to OH next week where I will have to get my own insurance. Any advice on getting this not to go on my record for insurance cost purposes? I was guilty, but should I show up to court and just ask for some mercy? HELP

Auto Insurance

If you show for court they will usually reduce it to an under 10mph and also reduce the fine but it depends on the court. It will take a couple of weeks for this to get on your Ohio license so I would try to go ahead and get your own insurance asap and sign up for a full year. Check several places since rates have dropped and vary considerably. Here is a link to one of the best places to get competing auto insurance quotes.
