Here is the story a cop pulled me over in CT because he said i was going 97 on a 65. He explained to me he laser me first at 97,72, and then to 65. He says he gave me a break by reducing it to an 80 on a 65. Because he explained in CT going 85 would mean i would go to jail. I said I thought i was going with the traffic there I explained there was a red car next to me and a truck behind it However he said i was going faster than those two other cars. So he again says How lucky i am not going to jail for wreck less driving. Anyways ticket is done I have to pay 255 dollars.I know what I did was wrong and I should have never been in a rush to get back home.
Here is the dilemma
So what can I do from the legal aspect.
I got one week to pay the ticket and I am poor college student.(literally I have to pay money order or check and I got zero no money) In the back there is to option plead no contest(pay fine) and not guilty. I dont know how the law works in CT. I know that I have NH license plates with a New York License will i get points on my license? There is part on the back that says no points would be accessed to your license if you pay the fine.(I will post the exact words later)
If i plead not guilty could i make the situation worst?
I want it to be reduced but i am afraid cop or judge could change their decisions and make it worst one? Because cop said he already gave me a break.
Can I delay the trial or Talk to prosecutor?
There is so many questions. I am Lost really.
