Speeding tx-1 court date/ 1 summons 2 dates

Speeding in ritzville got a ticket recieved notice to appear in court Jan 22 requested info for discovery then recieved a summons(from officer) to appear in court for a different date Feb 19 do I go to first court date and act like I did not recieve the summons since they won't be prepared to see me, ask for dismisal. The summons was not sent certified mail which I was under the impression it was supose to be? Any advice? thanks (200 miles from my home so I only want to drive there once)

They might have updated their system per your request......so they might not be expecting you in Jan. Show up in Jan......the summon might not mean you don't need to show up. Show up and go from there...........take your chances. You might get your way.
