can anyone give me information concerning a spiteful landlord?
heres the deal:
8 months ago, i had a apt fire that has displaced me. the unit has now been redone, and the landlord has increased my rent by 40%. being in a rent controled district, i notified the code enforcement officer, and he in turn notified the landlord. now, the landlord is being spiteful, and has told me that he will serve me a 60 day vacate notice (after he was willing to sign a new lease) to terminate my residency.
is there not a law regarding being notified by a governmental agency, that he cant change the terms? any help is appreciated.
