I recently started the process of obtaining a pistol permit in CT. While filling out the application I came across a question that I have never had to answer before, and was hoping someone could help me with how to answer this question.

The question is, "Have you ever been ARRESTED for any crime in any jurisdiction.

When I was about 12 years old I got picked up by the police for trespassing in some old warehouse, but I was never processed, and never had to go to court. Also when I was in college I was arrested for possession of marijuana paraphernalia. In this case I was arrested and processed but never had to go to court because my lawyer got the prosecutor to drop the charges.

So should I list these under that question, or can I check off the NO box.

They do all kinds of background checks as part of the application process, so I was thinking that they would see the college arrest at the very least, so I was thinking I should just put that one on there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I suspect you answered your own question:

"Also when I was in college I was arrested for possession of marijuana paraphernalia. In this case I was arrested and processed but never had to go to court because my lawyer got the prosecutor to drop the charges."

An arrest can still occur even if you never go to trial. Whether the act at the age of 12 was an "arrest" or not is something I cannot determine ... it could have been defined as a detention in your state, but not being from your state it's impossible for me to say.
