I have these 4 charges in Riverside County, California.

The charges are:
PEF002066 (Possession, Meth., 1998).
PEM11843 (Under the Influence, Meth., 1998)
RIM351023 (Shoplifting, 1998)
PEM018862 (DUI, 1999)

I have not lived in California since the last charge, and never went to court for these.

I have been trying to get a drivers license in the state I live in now, but they will not issue me one because California has my license suspended for not appearing.

My life is changed 180 degrees since I have lived down there, and I have not been in trouble with the law since, but I would really like to get a license instead of driving illegally.

Everyone I have ever asked this question has never responded, so i am hoping that someone here may know.

Does anyone know how long the statute of limitations are on the above mentioned charges?

Thanks,

If you are charged with these crimes, they will never go away.

Statute of limitations has to do with crimes that you aren't charged for.

For example, say you shoplifted a golf club, but are not caught. After about 5 years or so (depending on locale) you can never be charged for the crime, even though you committed it.

Sorry.

And you can't get a driver's license in any other state as long as California has it suspended.

Thanks!

Not that it really matters.....I will continue living my life as I have for the past 10 years. But thank you so much for answering a question that has been on my mind for a while.

I have been stopped a few times since then, and they informed me that I have warrants in CA, but no one has ever taken me in because of them. I guess I will continue to drive without a license. (It's not like I drive every day all over the place, I live on 40 acres in the mountains and go to "town" about once a week).

But thanks so much for FINALLY letting me know something!

Another question........

I live in WA State, and do not have the funds to go to CA to take care of this. Is there a way that I can take care of it without having to actually go to California?

Thanks again!
