In 1992 a warrant was issued for my arrest for probation violation. I left the state of Georgia and went to California to start a new life. I am now married with kids and have stayed clear of ALL trouble. How long befofre the warrant is over and done with ? And what are my options ? I am wanting to avoid jail at all costs and I am moving back to the east coast soon. I know Ga. won't extradite past 4 states...but I need some advice as to what to do. Will the warrant just run out in 7 years ?

Thnk you for your time...

Warrants do not expire. Most states automatically renew them until they are either served or withdrawn. If you want to see how best to resolve the problem, speak to an attorney in GA and find out what arrangements can be made. if the violations are relatively minor, you may be able to take care of the problem with a minimum of fuss and heartache.

I don't think there is a sol in a situation like this. You became a fugitive when you willingly left. As you were on probation, I doubt you were released when you ran.

Hope you don't get picked up, or have to produce ID.
