Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Still scared as hell

My jurisdiction is: I live in York county Maine

I have a lawyer and my arringment is on December. 16 I am very scared because I heard if you plead guilty they can send you to jail right then and there. That and my local paper also wrote a huge article and they printed my name and I am getting evil looks from people in town now. They have me on video and the cops are saying I can get 5-10 years. Does that mean I will go to jail or is there a chance my lawyer can work out a plea. I know I have to pay for what I have done but right now my mental status is fragile. I have already attempted suicuide twice both times getting sick and passing out. I would just like to know

Can my lawyer work out a plea?
Is there a chance I wont do jail time?
What exactly will happen when I go to court?

I was posted something a while back about this. I am charged with a class b theft, violation a, ordinance 353.1.b(1)
 
Are you going to arraignment or pre-trial conference?

Once you plead guilty, it is under the Judge's discretion when you will be sentenced. It is possible that you will go to jail immediately. How much bail did you have to post? This MAY be an indicator of what sentencing may follow.

Your lawyer can work out a plea. That is one of the main points in having a criminal defense attorney. There are far more pleas than there are trials.

The uncertainty of your situation is about as high stress as it gets. Just know that in time, it will eventually be over. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
 
I know that but im so scared right now I tremble and cant stop rying when I think about it. I didnt pay anything to the bondsmen. They set me at a $20,000 bail and wanted 7000 to let me out but the Det who arrested me said something so I didnt have to pay but that bond is huge. Someone told me I should get my lawyer to have a shrink talk to me and doument that as well. Dec 16th is a arraignment and the loe it gets the more scared I get.
 
My local paper printed a huge article about my arrest along with a copy of my mugshot. I know I should have thought about the consequences before I did what I did but is there anything I can to against the paper for printing the pic and also I have lived here for 3 years and I am the first article about an arrest where where the mugshot was printed.Also on Dec 16th I ot it wrong im not going for an arraignment I am going for a initial appearence hearing . What is that and what will happen to me there?
 
There is nothing you can do against the paper. Freedom of speech and press gives them the right to print your mughsot, its a matter of public record. When you commit a crime you can pretty much be exposed in any way shape or form.
