My son passed away 8 weeks ago, he was 27. My parents bought him stock in a company when he was very young and I am the beneficiary. I am also the executor.
He had no assets other than the stock which is worth about 6k. I have received a call from a credit card company that he has an outstanding amount on his card that is approximately the same amount as the stock value.
They asked if he had any stock and I said no. I am not associated with his card in any way.
My question is, can they come after the stock amount to satisfy the card debt?
