I was doing my job, working, when I noticed a nice pair of underwear, I hid in front of the cctv camera and quickly made out I was putting them on a hanger, I then placed the hanger back and so on left the store at the end of my shift after a check for employees stealing anything, and I was never caught
This was 2 weeks ago
2 days ago I was caught with underwear in my pockets by cctv
I have been suspended for investigation, would they look back on previous cctv footage?
I never finished my shift and was still in working hours, it was a random pocket check and they found them
But what im really asking is would my company look back on previous footage to see if I stole anything before? (Such as the underwear from before)

I don't think anyone here is going to be able to answer your question, as we only do US law.

They might. They might not.

Nothing we say is binding on the store. We have no way to even guess what they might do.

Please pay careful attention as you seem to be having trouble understanding.

Some stores will check past tapes. Some stores will not. Each individual store makes their own decision. There is no POSSIBLE way for us to know what an unknown store in the UK will do. We cannot even GUESS with any accuracy. It doesn't make any difference whether it is or is not a big global store. We. Don't. Know. What. They. Will. DO.

You're just going to have to stay scared. There is NOTHING we can tell you about what might happen. Even if you were in the US we wouldn't know.

Don't steal and you won't have to worry about it.

Any personal views?
As I am quite scared and I am only 16 years old

A general principle that seems to work across the planet, with a few rare exceptions in countries ruled by despots and tyrants, keep your mouth shut.
Another way to express that, don't snitch on yourself.
I've heard it said, that what they don't know won't hurt them (and I add, YOU, either).

Seriously, if you have the right to remain silent, please, be sure you do so.

Let's say Boris gets arrested for allegedly committing CRIME XYZ.
While the police are investigating CRIME XYZ, Boris blabs, "Hey, do you guys see where I also committed CRIME ABC and CRIME EFG, too?

See what I mean, OP?
If you are only required (in your country) to provide or verify your name, address, date of birth (and other biographic and demographic data); you're probably better off doing just that.

That stuff about what may have been captured on video last month, and you aren't required to answer yes or no, don't.

Okay, here's one for you, "billbob".
Underwear, really?
Plus, they conduct searches for people pilfering merchandise and someone pilfered and tried to conceal some anyway?

Naw, no need to answer, "res ipsa loquitur".

I am a retail theft consultant and answer questions like yours daily. It is the norm during most internal investigations to see if this person has stolen before as in 99% of the cases this wasn't their first time. So will they research to see if you have stolen before? Probably will they find the previous thefts if they have not read this? We cannot say. Keep your mouth shut make no admissions and answer no questions. They may try to be your friend or scare you regardless what they want is a confession do not give it to them!
