Stole about $40 of merchandise from (a store)

Stole about $40 of merchandise at a store and was stopped at the door. Cops were not called and I haven't received anything in the mail yet. Wondering if I will do jail time or just fines. And I have never been charged or convicted of theft before. I do have a criminal record for minor consumption which I completed a diversion program for. Will I be allowed to do the diversion program for this charge. I have an open case involving a felony and 2 A misdemeanors that are not related at all, but was wondering if that would affect the consequences of this charge and case. Thanks.

Your current case will probably impact your open felony case.
You might want to let your lawyer know.
It could also get your bond revoked, or your ROR rescinded.
The shoplifting is a nothing beef since cops weren't involved, except you're running out of life lines.

Stay out of trouble, if you want to stay out of jail for your bigger beef.

Without cops being called there is no criminal case. Pay the store (you should not have named) its Civil demand and put this behind you
