Stolen Car

I had dropped my car at a auto shop to get fixxed and during the time it was in the auto shops possesion it was stolen. I want to kno if the auto shop is entitled to pay for the cost of my car because it was stolen while it was in their possesion. I would like some advise on this situation thank you.

Did the auto shop folks steal it?

If not, then they are not liable GENERALLY.

If they left it on the street with the keys in it and the engine running and a flashing sign that said STEAL ME, then they may be liable.

Otherwise, no.

But give us facts and details.

No but they did not lock it up inside the shop they left it outside in there parking lot which has no gates or cameras.
