i leased a car for my brother and he was unable to keep up payments so this guy said he owns a company that buys people out of their loans and leases. he agreed to pick up the car in a different state than me and bring it back and he will decide if he wants it. after recieving the car he stopped answering his phone and kept delaying the paperwork, its a long story so ill try to keep it short, so there was never any paperwork done and two months later he refuses to give back the car saying he subleased it to someone else? the police wont help. i have three parking tickets in my name already and have been forced to repossess the car due to the police saying its a business deal gone bad. i can go to small claims for the tickets and two hundred that the guy borrowed, but can i also sue for damages to my credit and the rims that were on the car that were paid for? what is your advice on this case also?

Did you give him the title to the car? Did you speak to the department of motor vehicles in your state with regard to handling this problem? You no longer have possession of your car. I don't think I have to address the question of damages since he rented a car that he never intended to pay you for and is keeping the money for a vehicle in which he has no rights. I'd report a theft and insist the police take a report. No title was transferred and now a third party has the car, which you have no control and have given no authority, and could cause all types of damage and threaten public safety.
