For anybody that can give advice on this situation it will be greatly appreciated.

For over a year our family has placed our entire savings and funds to an outside individual, who then reinvests this money. Time and time he would visit and bring us cash money, as interest for our investment. We have recently found out that he has been buying and selling cars through the States to out of country. I have found and contacted a large dealership he has been doing business with and they lately they have refused to answer the phone and responded to my calls. Is this action legal to buy/sell cars? Should we file the person in charge with the car orders be placed into the police report as a suspect?

Over $500,000 has not been accounted for.
He has not called or contacted us in the past two months.
All money that has been transfered to this individual has been through cash, cashier's checks, and money orders.
Only information on these statements are his name.
Calls to his cellphone have been disconnected and just recently has given us an reorder tone.

This individual gave past information on him, name, address, license, and phone number. However, cannot verify if this information is correct because he was the one who copied and written them.

He seemed like a honest and kind individual, but it seems like we were fooled. Now we are accumulating a large amount of debt and are considering filing for bankruptcy.

I am not sure where to go from here, others advise to file a police report but are not totally sure if this will help.
