Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft stop payment on check

i run a dog grooming business, one day a week I rent space from a vet clinic in a nearby town. Tuesday, i had a long time client leave with her dog around 3:40 in the afternoon upset that I had charged her $5 more than last time to groom her dog, I explained that her dog was in heat, this was not the first time she had scheduled her dogs grooming during her cycle, and I would prefer not to groom her dog during that time, and the extra $5 was for the size of her dog and having to clean up after her dog to prevent unneutered male dogs from smelling that scent all over the vet clinic. She placed a stop payment on that check within 20 minutes (it was placed that day and the bank closes at 4). What are my options, I have a $35 overdraft fee and $20.33 in bank fees, plus her check of $47.70 that was stopped. Is this considered theft? How much can I recover?

It depends on state law. You can sue her in small claims for the work plus the damages.
